Biography[]
Star Wars: The Clone Wars[]
Born on the planet Krownest, a planet under Mandalorian rule, Ursa Wren was born into Clan Wren of House Vizsla. She became a member of Death Watch, a Mandalorian terrorist group who opposed the rule of Duchess Satine Kryze and opposed the New Mandalorians' pacifist ways and joining the Nite Owls led by Duchess Satine's sister, Bo-Katan.
At some point in her life, Ursa became the head of Clan Wren and married an aspiring artist, Alrich, who took his wife's surname due to how influential her family was. One year into the Clone Wars, in 21 BBY, Ursa gave birth to her firstborn, Sabine, and around 19 BBY, Alrich and Ursa had a son, Tristan.
Around 19 BBY, Ursa was still a member of Death Watch, who formed an alliance with former Sith Lord Darth Maul and his brother/apprentice, Savage Opress. However, they still planned to betray the two brothers when their usefulness towards the Death Watch was over. Ursa may have joined recruiting several crime lords' part of Maul's Shadow Collective, including the Pyke Syndicate, the Black Sun, and the Nightbrothers. She later witnessed a duel between Maul and Vizsla to take control over as Mandalore, which and Maul wins the duel. However, Ursa, with the rest of the Nite Owls, refused to acknowledge a non-Mandalorian like Maul as their leader. Seeing the Nite Owls would not submit, to his rule, their former comrades turned on Bo-Katan and the Nite Owls, who fled with their lives. (The Lawless)
On a mission to Oba Diah, Ursa and her fellow Mandalorians, the Nite Owls, are spying on Maul's associates, the Pyke Syndicate. Undercover, Ursa suddenly notices teenaged female Togruta escaping from the Pyke's subordinates while her companions are captured. Bo-Katan, who spies on the Togruta through her helmet's rangefinder, reconizes the girl as the Jedi she encountered on Carlac. Believing that Ahsoka can prove to be useful due to them sharing a common enemy in the Pykes, Lady Kryze orders Ursa and their followers to keep an eye on her. ("Dangerous Debt")
Star Wars Rebels[]
Season 3[]
When the Galactic Empire is founded, Ursa sides with them and continues living at Krownest. Several years into the Galactic Empire, Ursa's daughter speaks out against the Empire. In order to stay on the Saxons' good side, Ursa and her clan stand with the Empire and cut Sabine off. Feeling her daughter is safer on the run, Ursa stays away from her to protect Sabine. While her daughter becomes a member of the Ghost crew, Ursa's son is forced to become a member of the Imperial Super Commandos led by Gar Saxon while her husband is taken prisoner by the Empire. However, some people such as Fenn Rau, believe Ursa and Clan Wren to be traitors. ("Legacy of Mandalore," "The Protector of Concord,")
At least three years after her daughter left Mandalore, Ursa is less then pleased when she sees her daughter has returned. She nearly locks her daughter away in a cell until Sabine presents her mother with the Darksaber. Ursa takes away her Jedi companions, Ezra and Kanan's lightsabers as she speaks with her daughter. The countess of Krownest informs Sabine of her father's imprisonment and Clan Wren's alliance with the Empire and refused to join the rebellion. She regards Fenn Rau and his Protectors as traitors but both Ursa and Sabine agree their wills to protect and save Mandalore. Summoned by Gar Saxon, she offers him Ezra and Kanan and the Darksaber for her daughter's protection. However, when Saxon arrives on Krownest, he betrays Ursa and her family, hoping to exterminate them, earning Ursa's fury at his treachery. Tristan tries to convince Saxon to spare his family and the Jedi, but Saxon merely responds with giving him the choice of joining the Empire or perish with his family, with the boy choosing the latter. However, with the arrival of Fenn Rau breaking into the compound, a small skirmish breaks out between Clan Wren, the rebels and Fenn Rau against Gar Saxon, which causes Ursa to shoot down his lackeys with her twin blasters. During the skirmish, Saxon nearly kills Ursa with the Darksaber until Sabine intervenes taking her friend Ezra's lightsaber and intercepts the blow meant for her mother. As Sabine fought her adversary, Ezra attempted to intervene until Ursa prevents him, believing that by Mandalorian customs, Sabine was son her own in single combat duels until Kanan points out that her daughter's life is more important, leaving Ursa speechless. Besting Saxon in combat, Sabine spares his life and begins leaving. However, Saxon takes out his gun and prepares to kill Sabine until Ursa intervenes by shooting him herself with a single shot to the heart. Reconciling with Sabine, Ursa did not join the rebellion and instead knew a war was coming with Saxon's death. She decides to help her daughter find a worthy leader for Mandalore as Ezra, Kanan and Chopper as they returned to Chopper Base. Following Saxon's death, as Ursa predicted, Clans Saxon and Wren go to war with each other. (Legacy of Mandalore)
During Ursa's and her family's war council, they are interrupted with the abrupt arrival of Ezra and Chopper, who inform Sabine of Thrawn's attack on Atollon and ask for aid, as the clan is Ezra's only hope of saving his friends. However, Ursa reveals the young Jedi has come at a terrible time and tells him of the war that broke out since Saxon's death and how limited their sources are. However, Sabine and Ezra convince Ursa to at least hear out what the Jedi has to say. After Ezra finishes explaining, Ursa initially refuses and Rau tells Ezra to cut his losses and consider himself lucky. Realizing no one will help him, Ezra and Chopper prepare to leave until Sabine stops them and convinces her mother that Ezra and their friends make anything possible. Ursa acknowledges that Ezra helped restore her daughter to her and decides to help by providing Ezra and Sabine with those willing to follow them. Thanks to Ursa's and the other Mandalorians disabling the ship that keeps the rebels from escaping, they are able to escape. Following the battle of Atollon, Ursa gives her condolences to Hera Syndulla and hopes for assistance on Mandalore. Hera provides Ursa with Ezra and Kanan's help. (Zero Hour, Heroes of Mandalore)
Season 4[]
She later helped rescue her husband Alrich from Imperial prison.
